Essential Question	How can you derive formulas for the areas of triangles and parallelograms?
Objective	I will use the formulas for areas of triangles and parallelograms to solve problems.
Activity	During Class Time: Go to Buzzmath, open the book for grade 6, go to Geometry and Measurement, start at the top of the list and work through the first 17 activities. Just get as far as you can get. As long as you are working during class, you will not have to finish them for homework. During Testing Time Core Activities: If you are in 2nd hour with Sykes, Cramer, or Harguth, work on the 4.1/4.2 Extension worksheet. You may work with each other in the back of the room, but keep voices at whispering only! Examples 1, 2, 3 in chapter 4,1 Pages 156-157 #2, 4, 6, 7, 11, 14, 15, 18, 19 Examples 1, 2, 3 in Chapter 4.2 Pages 162-163 #3, 5, 7, 12, 14, 15, 17
Homework	Finish the assignments from the testing time: Pages 156-157 #2, 4, 6, 7, 11, 14, 15, 18, 19 and Pages 162-163 #3, 5, 7, 12, 14, 15, 17 2nd hour--finish worksheet
